24 - 27 October 2016 - Rio Oil & Gas
The EIC is proud to be organising and managing the UK Group at Rio Oil & Gas taking place from 24-27 October 2016.
Rio Oil & Gas 2016 is expected to attract over 53,000 delegates including senior procurement executives, project managers, specifiers and engineers, who will be looking to visit the EIC Pavilion to identify UK capability for offshore oil and gas projects in Brazil. Despite adverse economic conditions, Brazil is still Latin America’s biggest oil and gas market with opportunities present in the offshore construction, subsea and field life extension segments. Petrobras’ 2015-19 business plan calls for an investment of US$130.3 billion, of which US$108.6bn will be allocated to exploration and production. Approximately 82% of this amount will be spent on production development, with a strong focus on the development of Brazil’s massive pre-salt reserves. Petrobras, whose expenditure for 2016 is estimated at US$19 billion, expects 20 FPSOs to start operations by 2020, aiming at a production of 2.8 million barrels per day.
In addition to Petrobras, international oil majors such as Anadarko, Karoon Gas, Repsol Sinopec, Statoil, Shell and Total are also investing in the country with ambitious projects not only in the pre-salt play but other areas as well.
