Britain Brasil Magazine 2022

The Magazine is distributed free of charge at Britcham events

The British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil ‐ Britcham ‐ is proud to present to its members and the Brazil‐UK business and government relations community with the 2022 Britain Brasil Magazine, a special edition celebrating Britcham’s 105th anniversary in Brazil.

This very special edition will present Britcham and its members’ successes and achievements over the past two years under the guidance of the Board elected to serve a two‐year term from March 2020 to March 2022. The Board is currently chaired by Ana Paula Vitelli who, we are very proud to say, is the first woman president in the British Chamber’s 105 year history.

The magazine includes a number of valuable contributions and insights from the UK ambassador in Brazil, Mr. Peter Wilson, CMG, the British consul general in Rio de Janeiro, Mr. Anjoum Noorani, the British consul in Minas Gerais, Mr. Lucas Brown, the honorary British consul in Paraná, Mr. Adam Patterson, as well as executive director for Trade at DIT Brazil, Mr. Martin Whalley. They discuss trade and investment between Brazil and the UK as well as Britcham’s partnership with the British diplomatic corps, which is moving from strength to strength as we work together to improve the business environment.

Britcham’s president Mrs. Ana Paula Vitelli comments on the British Chamber’s challenges and achievements during a time of significant uncertainty triggered by the new coronavirus pandemic; this forced many businesses to suddenly change the way they do business and Britcham was no exception, however, the very high‐level team serving on the Administrative Council, the Executive Committees, Sector Committees and the executive team joined forces to support the British Chamber and its members’ growth and development. Despite the pandemic, they managed to implement a number of new projects and initiatives, drive growth and achieve a number of firsts in Britcham’s 105 history.

The regional presidents and officers of the Britcham Affiliates also made major contributions to regional development focused on members’ businesses, and the teams leading the Sector Committees produced insights to assist and create value for members via thematic groups which are expected to increase members’ engagement with the Chamber’s activities over the next several years.

The Magazine includes a must‐read section on Britcham’s efforts to improve the business environment, which involves advocacy and government relations efforts to address a number of tax (especially Tax Reforms), climate (focusing on Glasgow’s COP26 Conference) and regulatory issues (reducing barriers to create a better business environment), all of which was organised with the assistance of the recently created Britcham AAC ‐ Advocacy Advisory Commission.

In this edition, we will also be welcoming our new members who have joined the British Chamber since our previous publication. The Magazine also includes a list of corporate members grouped product and service and our individual members.

We would like to invite you, our readers, to enjoy this very special edition of the Britain Brasil Magazine and find out more about the organization’s results and achievements over the past century and more, with special emphasis on the events section, which contains images of our webinars and other initiatives.

We would once again like to thank everybody who has directly or indirectly contributed to producing this publication, especially our advertisers, who have made this project possible despite today’s challenging environment.
