On Tuesday, June 18, a delegation from the British Chamber was received in Brasilia by the Vice President of the Republic and Minister of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin, to address issues of very high relevance to the business environment between Brazil and the United Kingdom.

The day's program also included meetings with Bernard Appy, extraordinary secretary of Tax Reform of the Ministry of Finance, and with federal deputy Reginaldo Lopes (PT/MG).

The delegation led by the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Britcham, Fabio Caldas, and the leader of the Advocacy Consultative Commission (CCA), Luiz Guilherme Primos, highlighted the importance of the agreement to avoid double taxation (DTA), already approved and ratified by the United Kingdom and in the process of ratification by the Brazilian authorities.

The group also expressed support for the advancement of discussions related to the regulation of tax reform, making reservations about the applications of the so-called 'Selective Tax' in the sectors of the economy, which is a fundamental agenda for several companies associated with the British Chamber.
