Britcham hosted the in-person event “Brazilian Emissions Trading System: Structure, Implementation and Opportunities for the Business Sector”, bringing together members and guests to discuss the next steps for Brazil’s regulated carbon market. Held at the TozziniFreire office, the meeting was attended by José Pedro Bastos Neves, Deputy Secretary for Carbon Markets at the Ministry of Finance, who outlined the expected benefits of the system’s regulation, the main challenges to its implementation and the practical implications for businesses.  The event was opened by Luiz Guilherme Primos, President of Britcham São Paulo, with welcoming remarks delivered by Bianca Antacli, a Britcham board member and partner at TozziniFreire, the law firm supporting the meeting. The session was moderated by Ricardo Zibas, co-president of Britcham’s Environment & Sustainability Committee.
