The British Chamber, in partnership with the British Government, organised an event in Minas Gerais during Exposibram 2026, which featured a talk on building a more responsible mining sector and fostering connections through the roundtable of the Great British Business Club in Brazil (GBBC). The event featured keynote speaker Rohitesh Dhawan, President and CEO of the ICMM, who discussed the future of the mining sector. The official opening was attended by Carlos Levy, President of Britcham; Sarah Clegg, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Consul-General at the British Consulate in São Paulo; and Paola Oliveira, Institutional Relations Manager at the Museum of Mines and Metal. The programme was chaired by Laura Queiroz, Director of Government Relations and Trade at the British Consulate in Belo Horizonte. This was followed by the GBBC roundtable, chaired by Thomas Nemes, President of Britcham Minas Gerais, and Thiago Porto Ribeiro, Vice-President of the same branch.
