Born in Minas Gerais, Ana Sanches has a degree in Economics and Accounting, an MBA in Finance and Executive Education from Harvard Business School and Columbia University (USA) and the London School of Economics (England). With a career spanning more than 25 years, Ana Sanches is the leading executive in the mining sector in Brazil today, being the first woman to chair Anglo American in Brazil and the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Mining Institute (Ibram). She has been recognised with the “Equilibrista” award (IBEF-MG) and twice named one of the most influential women in global mining by Women in Mining. Under her leadership since 2023, Anglo American has achieved solid financial results in Brazil and reinforced its commitment to projects that combine innovation, socio-environmental responsibility and the generation of value for local communities, while maintaining strong ties with its British parent company.
