Britain Brasil Magazine 2023

The Magazine is distributed free of charge at Britcham events

The British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil – Britcham is proud to present its members and the wider Brazil-UK business and government relations community with the Britain Brasil Magazine 2023.

This edition showcases Britcham and its members’ achievements in 2022, the year Ana Paula Vitelli was re-elected president of Britcham and its Administrative Council to serve from March 2022 until March 2024. She is incredibly proud to be the first woman elected and re-elected to lead the British Chamber in its 107-year history.

The magazine has important views and contributions from the UK’s new ambassador in Brazil, Mrs. Stephanie Al-Qaq CMG, the British Consuls General in São Paulo, Mr. Jonathan Knott, and Rio de Janeiro, Mr. Anjoum Noorani, as well as the British Consul in Minas Gerais, Mr. Lucas Brown, and Honorary British Consul in Paraná, Mr. Adam Patterson, in which they discuss bilateral trade and investment between Brazil and the UK and Britcham’s strong partnership with the British diplomatic corps in Brazil as they strive to improve the bilateral business landscape.

Britcham President Mrs. Ana Paula Vitelli comments on the British Chamber’s challenges and achievements at a time when in-person events and other initiatives have been slow to return while the pandemic has slowly subsided; however, members and a number of government representatives have attended these events. Britcham is supported by the ongoing efforts of a high-level team that includes the Board of Directors, the Executive Committees, Thematic Committees, the Advocacy Advisory Commission and the executive team, who have all worked together to help the British Chamber and its members grow and develop.

One of the results was the 18th edition of the Britcham Energy Seminar that attracted many from the industry to an in-person meeting in Rio de Janeiro. Another highlight was the in-person dinner in honor of Britcham Personality of the Year 2022, Dr. Carlos Nobre, OBE, a Brazilian scientist with a global reputation for his work on climate-related issues. The ceremony honoring him was attended by various British and Brazilian officials and Britcham members.

In this edition of the Magazine, the Regional Presidents and Officers of the Britcham Affiliates also report on their significant contributions to regional development, especially to members’ businesses, and the teams leading the Thematic Committees how they plan to support and create value for members via sector groups, which are expected to drive increasingly consistent engagement with the Chamber’s activities and a resumption of in-person meetings.

The Magazine includes an unmissable section focusing on Britcham’s initiatives to improve the business environment, especially its Advocacy and government relations agenda addressing a number of tax, climate and regulatory issues, all of which are organized with assistance from the Britcham AAC – Advocacy Advisory Commission. It also presents contributions from specialist advisors discussing issues relevant to Brazil and the UK’s bilateral relationship. There are also exclusive interviews with Roberto Rodrigues, Brazil’s former minister of Agriculture, and Carlos Lima, Head of Defence and Security of the British Government in Brazil.

In this edition, we will also be welcoming the new members who have joined the British Chamber since our previous publication. The Magazine also includes a list of corporate members classified by the products and services they offer and individual members.

We would like to invite you, our readers, to enjoy this edition of the Brazil Britain Magazine, find out more about the organizations results and achievements over the past century and more; please don’t miss the events section, which contains images of our initiatives.

We would once again like to thank everybody who has directly or indirectly contributed to producing this Magazine, especially our advertisers, who have made this project possible and helped make this publication happen.
